Well, just a month or so into my career at Georgia-Pacific and I got a very special treat this morning. Flying on the corporate jet. With over 200 operations across the US, it just makes sense that GP would have a couple of jets based in Atlanta.
I was traveling with the new CEO, Christian Fischer as he tours some of the facilities to get to know the entire operation better. Christian comes from the packaging side of GP and as part of becoming CEO, he's getting to know more about all the various types of operations and people who make up Georgia-Pacific. This was an absolute hoot of a trip to Pennington, Alabama visiting the Naheola paper mill. What a tremendous facility and so many awesome folks working there. The most impressive thing about Christian is how much of a people person he is. He went out of his way to make sure he said hello to everyone he could see. He genuinely appreciates the employees and his enthusiasm for his new role is infectious. He's also wickedly funny as I discovered on our drive from the airport to the facility. It was a very short, but really fun way to travel. Thanks so much Christian for letting me tag along on my first corporate jet ride.
